After completion of the flooring project, the owner’s representative said, “the floor looks great; extremely happy with the finished product.” A chemical company approached TMI Coatings Inc. (TMI) to install a colored quartz floor in their entryway. TMI devised a plan to install a ¼” cementitious urethane system with a colored quartz topcoat for aesthetics and durability as the area’s existing flooring was in rough shape. TMI completed this work with minimal downtime to their front entrance area.
- TMI mechanically abraded 100% of the floor area to create an anchor pattern and remove the high spots.
- Cracks were routed out and filled, and new cementitious urethane mortar was installed to restore the surrounding plane.
- The base layer of the cementitious urethane floor topping system was installed, and colored quartz aggregate was broadcasted into the material.
- Lastly, an aliphatic urethane topcoat with UV stability was installed to resist ambering over time.
Another project successfully completed on time, within budget, and safely. The final product looks great, and the customer is happy.
