Reduce Downtime While Increasing Cement Flooring Protection

After hearing the numerous benefits of the Poly-Crete SLB system, a national seafood company chose to install it on approximately 8,000 square feet of new concrete flooring. As the floors in the seafood plant were regularly wet, this nationwide distributor needed a durable and protective floor covering.
After the old concrete was removed and the new floor was poured, TMI could begin treating the slab with Poly-Crete SLB. Unlike other cement coatings that require curing for at least 28 days, cementitious urethane requires only five days of downtime after pouring.
- Prepared surfaces for adhesion with vacuum blaster and hand-held diamond grinders.
- Filled joints to the surrounding plane by using an epoxy mixture.
- Installed Poly-Crete cants around the perimeter to thoroughly seal wall/floor junctures and reduce the risk of seeping water.
- Installed a self-leveling 100% solids cementitious low odor urethane system with a quartz aggregate broadcast.
- Applied a final topcoat.
