TMI Coatings removed existing sprayed in place foam insulation, sandblasted, and painted three (3) 170’ diameter ground storage tanks.  During removal of the old insulation and lead-based paint, an aging wood framed base on the concrete foundation was discovered.  To extend the life of the wood and the concrete and protect the integrity of the tank structure, TMI proposed a solution to the owner.  After sandblasting the wood and concrete to clean and roughen for paint to adhere, TMI applied an epoxy primer followed by an urethane elastomeric waterproof coating to protect the foundation for years to come.  The urethane elastomeric coating was brought up over the wood/steel juncture to eliminate water from getting behind the wood as well.
