After hearing of our broad experience restoring and protecting tanks and silos, a fresh meat supplier hired TMI Coatings Inc. (TMI) to complete exterior silo painting on five tall silos. The tanks were very dirty and had faded overtime due to the harsh UV rays from the sun. Even with a project of this magnitude, TMI team of experts took the time to brush on a coating system with proven success in preserving the appearance of tanks, legs, distributors, bins, and other steel structures.
The job entailed 11,660 square feet of painting or as we like to say, five silos high in the sky.
• Prepared surfaces for new coating adhesion by using 4,000 PSI high-pressure washers with rotating tips, and further clean rust areas with hand and power tools. Removed all loose coating and rust, dirt, and flaking paint.
• Covered/protected galvanized ladders and rails from paint overspray.
• To limit overspray on buildings and cars, TMI used brushes and rollers only to apply an industrial epoxy rust-inhibitive metal primer and a high-quality urethane topcoat.
The silo painting project is now complete. The customer is very happy TMI’s workmanship and professional throughout the project. The silos are protected from the harsh elements, UV, and corrosion for many years to come.
