Floor Sloping Eliminates Concerns

A Midwestern cheese plant had standing water on the floor of their production entryway and packaging area. The plant employees were standing in the water in order to cut the cheese. There were sanitary concerns due to splashing of standing water into the cheese carts where the blocks of cheese are temporarily stored before slicing. The sloping of the floor alleviated these concerns.

TMI Coatings removed the existing floor coating and applied sloping material to slope the floors toward the drains. A cementitious urethane floor topping was then applied to protect the floors and to satisfy USDA inspectors.
