Last summer, TMI Coatings, Inc. (TMI) took on a tank lining and coating job for a Wisconsin-based mechanical contracting and tank fabricating company. A two-compartment large tank for a chemical storage company required a new protective coating resistant to chemicals and insulation to prevent freezing.
TMI began by spot power tool cleaning the weld seams and damaged shop applied coating on the tank exterior before applying primer, then 2” of spray-applied urethane foam insulation to the tank shell, and finally an acrylic topcoat for weather protection. All work was done safely, om a quality manner, and on time.
For the interior tank lining, TMI sandblasted and applied three layers of multi-purpose epoxy coating to the tank itself. Underneath the tank lid, TMI touched up weld spots by hand power tooling and treated the whole area with two layers of epoxy coating.
When the TMI Coatings crew was finished, the two tanks had good corrosion protection for many years of service. TMI has the knowledge and experience to protect your equipment and infrastructure.
