Pensacola Naval Air Station Water Tower Restoration

Full containment is up on TMI Coatings, Inc.’s (TMI) first water tower at Pensacola Naval Air Station (NAS). TMI was contracted to do weld repairs and fully abrasive blast the interior and exterior of two (2) checker boarded elevated water towers. The exteriors will be repainted with the same aviation checkerboard pattern as currently shown. TMI will complete the first water tower this winter, and the second water tower next winter.

TMI’s experience with federal contracting including past naval work was a large factor in the award process for this contract. Along with TMI’s SSPC QP1 and QP2 certifications, TMI was selected as the contractor of choice for the project. TMI has worked closely with hundreds of different local and federal governments throughout the United States restoring everything from bridges to water towers.

The two elevated water towers are side by side on base at Pensacola Naval Air Station.  This base is home of the Blue Angels whom often practice their flight training by lining up the towers as a line of sight from above.
