The City of Brush! in Colorado had seen significant corrosion in the interior and exterior of their 2.3 MG potable water storage tank. Every steel structure experiences corrosion. It is what you do to restore them that determines the safety, longevity, and effectiveness of your facilities. TMI Coatings, Inc. (TMI) is driven by our endless desire to restore America’s infrastructure. TMI has the knowledge, skill, and experience to restore any steel or concrete structure.
Procedures:
- Sandblasted the entire structure both inside and outside this municipal drinking water tank to create a suitable surface for the adhesion of new coating systems.
- Applied a primer coat to the interior and exterior of the tank to protect from corrosion. The interior received an NSF approved coating system for potable water consisting of a zinc primer with two additional coats of epoxy.
- The exterior received a three-coat protective coating system inclusive of two epoxy coats and a urethane finish coat.
Outcome:
Our staff sandblasted all surfaces utilizing a robotic unit to reduce dust where applicable and afterward, we applied the primer and subsequent coatings. The specified products were used during these procedures to create a durable protective coating with a pleasing final finish. The City of Brush! can be assured that their potable water storage tank is now fully restored, safe to use, and will last significantly longer.
