TMI Coatings, Inc. (TMI) recommended installing CHEM-RESIST flooring at a manufacturing facility in their injection molding area. This company manufactures bronze outdoor signs and letters. The total floor space was 7,000 sq. ft. and 6,100 sq. ft. of the floor area was subject to constant foot traffic. The other 900 sq. ft. had forklifts and pallet jacks running across it on a regular basis. TMI installed a thin film “orange peel” finish to 6,100 sq. ft. of the floor; the remaining 900 sq. ft. near the receiving door received CHEM-RESIST at 1/8” thick for increased durability. The customer’s objective was to protect the concrete floor from wear in high traffic areas, reduce concrete dusting, and improve aesthetics in the remaining areas.
- TMI prepared the surface by vacuum steel shot blasting, further grinding with hand-held grinders with vacuum attachments.
- TMI restored eroded concrete to surrounding plane with an epoxy mortar.
- TMI then applied CHEM-RESIST at two different thicknesses depending on the industrial need.
The customer stated, they are satisfied with the overall look of the coated floor, as well as TMI’s workmanship during the course of the project. Then the owner stated the crew was great. The floor is now safe to use again after the eroded concrete was restored and a new CHEM-RESIST floor system was installed. Another restoration project completed by TMI Coatings safely and on time.
