In Wisconsin, a large poultry facility hired TMI Coatings, Inc. (TMI) to paint their bar joist ceiling in a food production area. High moisture and rigorous wash downs had caused the old ceiling paint to flake and rust.
TMI crew members prepared the surface to remove all of the loose and flaking paint. All surfaces were then coated with two full coats of a rust-inhibitive epoxy coating material. This USDA coating material is specifically designed for marginally prepared surfaces where sandblasting isn’t practical or recommended and is suitable for incidental food contact. TMI completed another successful project for a poultry facility.
