TMI Coatings, Inc. (TMI) completed a water tower coating project for the University of Minnesota in Grand Rapids, MN. TMI’s crew pressure washed the exterior using 4,000 psi pressure washers with rotating tips. All obvious failed paint/rusty areas were further hand/power tool cleaned to SSPC-SP2/3. A two-coat system was then applied to all surfaces. The first coat was a surface tolerant, rust-inhibitive epoxy primer, and the top coat was a quality material with good gloss retention and UV protection. The owner stated, “your crew has made great progress during the water tower project. The tower made our weekly newsletter this week. It is looking very good.”
