Plaster Delamination Repair

Great Lake Cheese supplies 25 percent of all the packaged cheese consumed in America. Due to ongoing moisture issues in the ceiling of a processing area, the customer was experiencing ongoing plaster delamination on a ceiling beam enclosure. The I-beam nearly 100’ long x 3’ wide x 3’ deep was in the manufacturing part of the plant. TMI Coatings offered multiple solutions to address the issue and was later hired to complete removal of the old plaster using chipping hammers and saws.  TMI then applied a high-performance epoxy coating to protect the exposed steel I-beam. The applied coating system is USDA compliant and suitable for use in areas with high moisture levels. TMI completed the project in the three-day time frame in which the cheese company was shut down.  The contact stated, “project seemed to go smoothly, they were autonomous, there were talks along the way with TMI’s Superintendent over the weekend and all was good.”
