A manufacturing facility requested that TMI Coatings recommend a flooring system for their injection molding area floor. This company manufactures bronze outdoor signs and letters. The floor is 7,000 sq. ft. and subject to foot traffic. Approximately 900 sq. ft. has forklifts and pallet jacks running across it on a regular basis. TMI installed a thin film “orange peel” finish to 6,100 sq. ft. of the floor; the remaining 900 sq. ft. which was high traffic near the receiving door was applied at 1/8” thick for durability. The customer’s objective was to reduce the risk of the floor being contaminated by oils as well as provide a brighter work-friendly environment.
TMI prepared the surface by vacuum steel shot blasting, further grinding with hand-held grinders with vacuum attachments. TMI then applied CHEM-RESIST at the specified thickness. The customer stated they are satisfied with the overall look of the coated floor, as well as TMI’s workmanship during the course of the project. Then the owner stated the crew was great.
